Stormwater Compliance Specialists

Training

Field Traing A key element of the SWPPP is a training program that ensures that the construction personnel are thoroughly aware of the overall storm water pollution management program. Stormwater Compliance Specialists, Inc. offers a wide range of both on-site and off-site training programs that include basic storm water regulations, BMPs, and good housekeeping. In addition, Stormwater Complilance Specialists offers training in Air Quality Management District (AQMD) regulations and AQMD BMPs. Our training programs are site specific and designed to ensure that all levels of construction personnel – from supervisors to contract employees - understand the roles and responsibilities to maintain compliance with the NPDES permit.

All of our training programs can be tailored to meet specific needs of senior management, construction project managers, and site supervisors as well as inspectors and municipalities.

Our two-part training contains the basics of storm water management taught by a certified compliancy instructor.

Basic training includes the following taught in both classroom and field environments:

  • Compliance Overview
  • Key elements of Clean Water Act
  • State of California Regulations
  • Permit Requirements
  • Storm Water Plan Management
  • Best Management Practice applications
  • How to Respond to Regulatory Inspections
  • Case histories and enforcement strategies

Each attendee will receive a binder containing the following:

  • “Roadmap to Compliance” presentation slides with notes
  • California State regulations
  • BMP application and installation procedures

In Class Traing Each attendee that completes this training will also receive a "Qualified Storm Water Compliance” certificate. This training is an excellent program for on-site staff, contractors and trade partners.

A shorter version of our training is designed to give details on storm water management to all sub-contractors who work your site. The program covers specific areas of concern for land development, utilities, concrete, and materials handling on site. It also addresses issues with other contractors who may impact storm water runoff, erosion control measures, or create adverse pollutant discharge on your site.
