Notice of Intent (NOI)

In California, a general permit or Notice of Intent (NOI) is required to begin any construction on a project of greater than one acre in accordance with the California State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) Order No. 92-08-DWQ, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Permit No. CAS000002. This permit is issued through the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) and the nine Regional Water Quality Control Boards (RWQCB).

The Notice of Intent affirms that SWPPP has been prepared and is ready to be implemented and must be filed before construction can begin. Stormwater Compliance Specialists can prepare the NOI and submit it to the Regional Board for approval on your behalf.
